- 4 Apples Red Delicious variety
- ¼ cup Walnuts chopped
- ½ cup Brown sugar packed
- 4 tbsp Unsalted butter at room temperature
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- ¾ cup Water
- Vanilla ice cream optional
Preheat oven to 375℉.
Use an apple corer to make a deep hole in the apples, removing the stem and seeds.
In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon, mixing well. Mix in nuts.
Spoon mixture evenly into each apple.
Add the ¾ cup of water to a baking dish and place apples on top.
Cook in the oven for 40-50 minutes, or until tender. (If apples are not still soft, let them go a bit longer. Some ovens require longer baking times.)
Allow to cool slightly before spooning the sauce from the baking dish over the apples. Serve warm (but not hot) with ice-cream.
