1 air fryer
Ingredients
½cupOatsold fashioned rolled oats
2tbspAll purpose flour
2tbspLight brown sugar
½tspCinnamon
2tbspButtermelted and divided; salted or unsalted
4ApplesHoneycrisp; large
Instructions
Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees.
In a medium bowl, mix together the oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and 1 tablespoon of butter until well combined. It should have a wet, sand-like consistency that stays together when packed into a spoon.
Cut each apple in half and use a spoon or melon baller to remove the core, leaving an indent about the size of 2 tablespoons.
Brush the remaining butter evenly over the inside of each apple.
Divide the filling evenly among the apples. Spoon into the cored section and use the back of the spoon to firmly pack.
*Place the filled apples into the air fryer basket and cook for 12-15 minutes. When done, the apples should be lightly brown and fork-tender. Feel free to cook for additional time if you prefer a softer apple.
Allow 10 minutes for apples to cool a bit and for the topping to fully crisp before serving.
Add vanilla ice cream or topping of your choice.
Notes
* You may need to add additional time based on your air fryer size, power, and how soft you’d like the apples.
