Easter Lamb Cookies

These are the best roll-out butter cookies! Basically, they are buttery sugar sprinkles cookies shaped like lambs for Easter and spring! These easy lamb cookies are a hit for kids in the kitchen!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Granulated sugar
  • 4 sticks Salted butter somewhat softened
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Vanilla
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 6 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp Milk a splash
  • Sanding sugar in color of choice

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the sugar and butter until creamed.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla and mix well.
  • Sprinkle in the baking powder and mix again.
  • Slowly add the six cups of flour, adding a few cups at a time.
  • Add the splash of milk to help soften the dough (if necessary).
  • Divide the mixture into fourths.
  • Roll 1/4 of the dough onto a counter or surface sprinkled with flour. Roll dough to 1/3 inch thickness.
  • Cut into shapes with lamb-shaped cookie cutters.
  • Place cookie shapes on ungreased baking sheet.
  • Add sprinkles or colored sugar, if desired.
  • Bake for 9 minutes for a firm cookie. If you desire a soft cookie, bake at 7-8 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and let cool one minute before moving to wire rack.

Notes

These sugar sprinkles cookies can be garnished with sprinkles, crystalized sugars for a particular color scheme, or buttercream frosting of your choice!
