Ingredients

  • 6 cups All-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup Granulated sugar, plus 2 tablespoons
  • ¼ cup Baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 3 ½ cups Milk, reduced fat
  • 1 cup Vegetable oil, plus 2 tablespoons
  • 4 Eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla
  • 1 cup Sprinkles, divided

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients (except for sprinkles) in the order listed into a large mixing bowl.
  • Whisk until smooth, adding 3/4 cup sprinkles at the very end of mixing.
  • Let batter rest for 5 minutes.
  • Preheat your waffle maker.
  • Once waffle maker is preheated, add about about 1 and 3/4 cup batter to the center of the waffle maker for a four-waffle maker. (If your waffle maker makes one waffle at a time, add a little less than half a cup to the middle of your grid.)
  • Spread the batter as evenly as possible, covering all squares of the grids with a silicon or heat-proof spatula.
  • Close lid and heat until waffle maker finishes the cooking cycle.
  • Carefully remove hot waffles, careful not to rip them.
  • Repeat the cooking process with remaining batter. (You may keep the cooked waffles on a metal pan in warm oven while the rest cook.)
  • Garnish with syrup, whipped cream, and the remaining 1/4 cup of sprinkles. Add birthday candles, if desired.
