Cinnamon Waffles

These easy homemade cinnamon waffles are lightly sweetened with brown sugar. They are delicious with pecans or without!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup chopped pecans optional

Instructions

  • In mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients (except for pecans).
  • Add all wet ingredients to bowl.
  • Mix until smooth and well-blended.
  • If using pecans, add them and mix again for 20-30 seconds.
  • Preheat waffle maker.
  • Once waffle maker is adequately heated, add batter to each grid. (You can use a measuring cup to do this, filling most of the way. Do not overfill the grids as batter may run over the edges.)
  • As you remove each group of cooked waffles from the machine, you may place them on a baking pan in a 300 degree oven while the rest of the waffles cook. This will keep them warm.
  • Garnish with syrup, butter, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit.
