Originally, I collaborated with the Shrpa influencing company to create promotional content for the City of Springdale. This post is not part of that original agreement. Simply, I chose to add this post on my own without additional compensation because we had an awesome time in Springdale, and I wanted to share more details here on my website.
Read on for our suggestions on what to do during a 2-day trip to Springdale!
Day 1 of Your Visit to Springdale
It’s the perfect day to explore some eateries around Springdale and pack in a bit of outdoor fun, too!
Stone Mill Bread and Cafe
Start your day with an early lunch at Stone Mill Bread and Cafe on W. Sunset Avenue. This restaurant offers the perfect light lunch options – such as grilled cheese sandwiches, soups, delicious BLTs, and salads. You have a busy day of playing and eating ahead, so you don’t want to overstuff yourself!
Don’t miss out on the packaged loaves of bread! With such interesting bread varieties, you are sure to find one you like!
We couldn’t help but take a box of scones (made fresh daily) to enjoy at our hotel later in the weekend.
Appel Farms
What is a fall adventure without a stop for some treats straight out of nature? Appel Farms offers a small pumpkin patch along with freshly baked goods and treats. Our girls had fun picking their own pumpkins from the small pumpkin patch. I liked that this is a small veteran and family-owned pumpkin patch.
There is no charge for entering the pumpkin patch to choose pumpkins. And while you are there, you can take advantage of the cozy little photo spots!
We indulged in the turtle caramel apple! Highly recommend!
Don’t forget to support your local farmers during your visit to Springdale which, in turn, help Northwest Arkansas to thrive!
The Boardwalk Food Court
Now that you’ve loaded up your pumpkins, it’s time to head to The Boardwalk Food Court for a truly cool food truck experience in Springdale! With 11 food trucks, you could truly eat here nearly every day of the week! From Japanese, Venezuelan, Honduran, Mexican and other fare, there is something for everyone.
And even if it isn’t mealtime, you can still stop in for a tasty crepe from Crepes and Company. Choose from a cheesecake, banana, chocolate, or strawberry crepe for a taste explosion! I had never had a real crepe before. It was fun to try!
Check the hours for the food trucks on The Boardwalk website! Some trucks may have different hours of operation than others.
Shaw Family Park
It’s time to insert some play time into your day of food explorations! Shaw Family Park offers multiple playground setups for families. Also included is a dog park and plenty of green space for burning off energy!
From climbing equipment to a racing field, there is a variety of playground structures to keep all family members busy! You will also find four tennis courts, five ponds, a fitness area, pavilions, and a splash pad (open seasonally).
You can truly spend hours at this large park! Bathrooms are on site!
For someone like me who tries to stay out of the sun, I wished there had been at least one shaded pavilion or canopy for parents to stand or sit under while the kids played. But you can’t complain much when you visit such a clean and nice free playground!
Wagon Wheel Country Cafe
Whew! It’s been a busy day of good food and fun. But it isn’t over yet! After all that outdoor playtime, you might wish for a bit of rest time and an opportunity to freshen up at your home or hotel. Casual attire for the evening is all you need as you head to Wagon Wheel Country Cafe for a delicious homestyle dinner.
From country-fried steaks to hamburger steaks and melt-in-your-mouth mashed potatoes, Wagon Wheel Country Cafe knows how to put out a Southern meal!
From the moment you pull into the parking lot, there is something familiar and comforting about this longtime restaurant! What is not to love about a humble place that repurposes old Coca-Cola bottles into salt and pepper shakers? And don’t miss that skillet door handle! (Ignore the spider! It was Halloween season, after all!)
When your schedule allows, be sure to visit Wagon Wheel for the old-timey breakfast during morning hours!
Day 2 of Your Visit to Springdale
This adventure combines tasty treats and unique shops from Springdale’s historic downtown area.
Trailside Coffee Company is a Fun Part of a Visit to Springdale
Is there anything really more Northwest Arkansas than a bike shop with a coffee shop inside? Phat Tire Bike Shop with Trailside Coffee on the inside is such a fun combo to find on a mid-morning visit to the downtown Springdale area.
While the Phat Tire Bike Shop offers an array of mountain bikes, road bikes, electric bikes, and bike rentals, Trailside Coffee Shop offers coffee, smoothies, homemade ice cream, and baked goods.
Rent one of the rental bikes and go for a spin around the beautiful downtown Springdale area and explore the Razorback Greenway by bike!
When dropping off the rental, indulge that appetite you earned with a smoothie or a cup of coffee. The baked goods are locally sourced from Ms. B’s Sweets, and much of the coffee is made with local coffee beans by Joyhouse and Mountain Bird Coffee and Tea.
Ride out a bit of free time in this chill shop! It’s one of the cool chill places to love during your visit to Springdale, Arkansas!
Note the hours of the two shops. Trailside Coffee’s downtown location is open Monday – Saturday from 7:30 AM to 3 PM and from 9 AM to 4 PM on Sundays. The bike shop is open from 10 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday and from 9 AM to 5 PM on Saturdays. Phat Tire is closed on Sundays.
Not far from the popular Razorback Greenway, this location beckons bike lovers and coffee lovers alike!
Shelby Lynn’s Cake Shoppe
If you are still hankering for some more sweets – or maybe even want some to take home for later – make your way past the fun and quirky downtown restaurants like Mr. Taco Loco, The Odd Soul, and other shops on Emma Avenue – and find yourself at Shelby Lynn’s Cake Shoppe. This bakery, known for its award-winning custom cake designs, offers grab-and-go goodies, which seem to be becoming more and more rare in the bakery world!
Whether you have a craving for chocolate-covered Oreos, a slice of cheesecake, gourmet-style cookies, petit fours, or brownies, you are sure to find something delicious here!
Get there earlier in the day for a full selection from the grab-and-go bakery case!
Stop by Walter Turnbow Park and Shiloh Square During Your Visit to Springdale
Once you’ve picked out a few yummy treats from Trailside Coffee and Shelby Lynn’s, head on outside to Walter Turnbow Park at Shiloh Square and enjoy the peaceful seating areas that are situated around the property.
During fall, seasonal displays can be found which double as cute photo spots! People watch to your heart’s content as bike riders whiz by and people walk their dogs through the park.
Occasionally, you may luck out and discover an event hosted at the park during your visit!
Dela Deville’s Vintage
That sugar rush has you ready for more explorations. Don’t miss this gem of a spot on Emma Avenue. Dela DeVille’s Vintage shop is as retro cool as it gets! Whether you think you need a new-to-you vintage outfit in your life or you don’t, this store is worth a look inside during your visit to Springdale! You can find true vintage pieces or vintage-replicated pieces – organized in different sections of the store.
And…Holy Cat…when it comes to Halloween, this shop goes all out! I couldn’t believe all the cool vintage-y Halloween pieces in this shop!
You won’t regret taking a peek into this truly unique shop in the heart of downtown Springdale!
Con Quesos
End your night with a casual dinner at Con Quesos, an Arkansas-based restaurant specializing in fusion tacos, quesos, and quesadillas. With multiple queso selections and freshly fried tortilla chips, you cannot go wrong!
And why not taste-test some fusion tacos or a quesadilla? Share a Kingston quesadilla with Caribbean jerk chicken and mango, or split some Osaka tacos with hibachi shrimp, rice, and fried egg.
A fusion restaurant is the perfect opportunity to try something new! Don’t shy away from trying a taco with an Asian flair!
You will enjoy the fun laid-back ambiance of Con Quesos during your visit to Springdale!
