Are You Team Candy Corn?
Are you Team Candy Corn? I’m guessing if you are here searching for a candy corn recipe, than maybe you are, indeed, Team Candy Corn?
Full disclosure: I don’t like candy corn. Never have. I don’t hate it, but I’m certainly not reaching for it at Halloween.
BUT…
This delicious no bake candy corn lush makes me forget I really don’t care much for candy corn! Primarily, the candy corn is in the garnish. The base ingredients for this delicious Halloween dessert taste of Oreos and pudding…not candy corn. So we’re all good – no matter what team you are on! If you are Team Candy Corn, be sure to add some extra pieces to your plate!
Ingredients
- 30 Golden Oreos
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 package (3.3 oz) white chocolate pudding mix
- 3 cups milk
- 1 package (16 oz) cool whip, divided
- Yellow and orange food coloring
- Candy corn, for garnish
Tips for Making No Bake Candy Corn Lush
- For a smoother texture, you can use a food processor to crush the Oreos.
- We used a standard 13×9 baking dish – you could use a similar size or divide between two smaller containers.
- We highly recommend freezing the dish between layers to make it easier to spread the next layer. If the layers do not solidify and they are all placed on top of each other too soon, it will be difficult to spread and make a frustrating mess. Don’t skip the chill time!
- The condensation will eventually dissolve the candy corn. If you’re making ahead of time, place the candy corn on just prior to serving.
- Lush can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days covered or in an airtight container.
We sometimes make this no bake candy corn lush AFTER Halloween with our leftover candy corn candy! It’s a great way to use up the candy – just like we use up leftover Reese’s Pieces with our The Best Reese’s Pieces Peanut Butter Cookies!
The Best No Bake Candy Corn Lush
Ingredients
- 3.3 oz White chocolate pudding
- 3 cup Milk
- 30 Golden Oreos
- ½ cup Unsalted butter
- 16 oz Cool Whip
- Yellow food coloring
- Orange food coloring
- ½ cup Candy Corn for garnish
Instructions
- In a medium sized bowl, combine the white chocolate pudding and milk. Whisk well until there are no more chunks and the pudding has dissolved, about 2 minutes. Allow to set in the fridge for about 10 minutes.
- While the pudding sets, make the crust. Using a food processor, crush the Golden Oreos into a fine crumb. Place in a medium sized bowl.
- In a small, microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Pour over the Golden Oreo crumbs and mix until it resembles wet sand. Press into a 13×9 baking dish.
- Remove the pudding from the fridge and combine with half (8 oz) of the Cool Whip. Mix well.
- Divide the mixture equally between two bowls. Tint one bowl yellow and the other orange. Mix well to ensure all the color is mixed thoroughly.
- Spread the yellow pudding over the Golden Oreo crumb crust. Place in the freezer for about 20 minutes to solidify.
- Remove the dish from the freezer and carefully spread the orange pudding mixture over the yellow layer. Freeze again for another 30 minutes to solidify.
- Remove the dish from the freezer and spread with the remaining half of the Cool Whip (another 8 oz worth). Store in the fridge until ready to serve.
- Immediately before serving, place the candy corn pieces on top to decorate. (Do not add these until you are ready serve.)
