I have been meaning to write this post about these leopard outfits for family pictures for a while now. Once again, Lori Sparkman did a superb job taking our fall family photos.
Unfortunately, the Hubs and I had some miscommunication about which clothing items he needed to pack in the car before we drove off to meet our photographer for the photo shoot. We got to the site and realized he did not bring the right button-up shirt to go with our leopard print outfits. We usually have an outfit change when taking family pictures with Lori. Rather than bringing his black button-up shirt to go with his brown corduroy sports jacket, he wound up with only his blue shirt from the first outfit set.
So his outfit doesn’t totally work with our leopard outfits for our family pictures. Oh, well. He and I are only secondary characters anyway. You can clearly see who the star characters of our photo shoots are!
All photos in this post were taken by Lori Sparkman Photography.
Little Girls’ Leopard Outfits for Family Pictures
One fun pop of color to tie into your leopard print outfits is red. Red plays so well against the neutrals of an animal print. It is a bold combination that still comes across as classy.
I ordered the girls’ leopard outfits from Mia Belle Girls in the fall. I love the velveteen texture.
How fun is this leopard print romper? The bell bottoms are amazing! One way to keep the focus on the romper is to downplay the other accessories. We kept things simple with black flats and a black hair bow.
Little One’s outfit was all about business at the top, party at the bottom!
Paired with a simple black shirt and black flats, her ripped leggings are sassy and fun!
The girls’ leopard print outfits were the starting point for our coordinating outfits for family pictures.
These girls definitely keep us on our toes! Every year, I commend Lori for the patience she has with photographing these wild monkeys! Be sure to check out our other family pictures outfit posts: navy and pink outfits, fall family pictures in pink and green, blue and mustard outfits for family pictures (with a formula for coordinating a family of four), pink and brown outfits, burgundy and blue outfits, and boho chic outfits for family pictures. All of them have photos by Lori Sparkman! If you are in the central Arkansas area, you must look her up!
Adding in More Leopard Print or Cheetah Print
Don’t be afraid to add in another animal print to your family photos!
Is there anything better than comfy oversized sweater and legging outfits with leopard flats? Technically, my shoes are cut-out booties with flat heels. They have a D’Orsay flats style about them. These flat leopard print shoes are comfy, whatever you call them!
The leopard print of my shoes is darker than that of the girls’ leopard print outfits. I wouldn’t want to go overboard with too many different animal print outfits and accessories in one photo shoot. But a second pattern in a small scale just adds to the playfulness!
In my opinion, mixing in a small pop of cheetah print or a second pattern of leopard print is the way to go if you want to double up.
Cheetah Print vs. Leopard Print
Do you know the differences in cheetah print vs. leopard print? I asked my seven-year-old her thoughts, and she was pretty spot on! Cheetah print has individual irregular black dots. Basically, none of the dots touch each other and you can clearly see space between the dots. Leopard print on the other hand has a multi-colored irregular pattern of dots with the colors overlapping – giving a kind of splotchy look.
I hope you found some inspiration in our animal print outfits for a family photo shoot!
