Eeek! I can’t wait for y’all to check out our kids’ bug costumes – our baby bumble bee costume and our baby ladybug costume!
I know, I know. You guys are over Halloween and are already spinning Pinterest on its head with Christmas cookies, kids’ Christmas crafts, and ideas for draping Christmas greens from your lighting fixtures. I get it.
Bug Halloween Costumes for Sisters
But give me a few more minutes of your attention so you don’t miss the cutest baby bumble bee and baby ladybug ever! We had such a busy week last week – between the girls’ birthday party (post coming soon), trunk or treat at church, day care parties, after school meetings, and a sick Little One, I couldn’t even dream of trying to get this post up early.
I’ve never cared a whole lot for bug costumes…anything to do with a bug, really. I despise bugs. Although, I did dress up as a sexy ladybug in college one year. Certainly, I never would have predicted I would choose kids’ bug costumes as Halloween costumes for sisters someday!
But when I came across these two kids’ bug costume rompers on Sparkle in Pink, I knew they would be fabulous for coordinating Halloween costumes for sisters. Since both costumes were on clearance in August (score!), I had to hunt down leg warmers for both costumes. Etsy and Gabskia to the rescue!
Baby Ladybug Costume and Baby Bumble Bee Costume – Kids’ Bug Costumes
The fact that these costumes were pretty simple to put on and take off was appealing to me. With a wiggle worm baby and a recently potty-trained toddler, that was important. I had planned to put together a bumble bee costume for myself by placing black stripes of duct tape across a bright yellow shirt, but I never could find a simple yellow shirt. In hindsight, I guess I could have tried to find yellow duct tape and place over a black shirt. In fact, these toddler bug costumes could probably be a DIY project pretty easily.
Scooter Britches broke her antennas the day before at her school party, but her handy daddy bought some more springs to repair it.
It was a bit chilly outside on Halloween night so I layered our kids’ bug Halloween costumes over black leggings and black long-sleeve shirts.
The sugar was already catching up to this busy baby bumble bee!
Oh, these two!
My little love bug! Isn’t this baby ladybug costume just the sweetest?
