Quick Beef and Sausage Chili

- 1 lb Ground beef
- 1 lb Ground pork sausage
- ½ cup Yellow onion chopped
- 1 tbsp Garlic minced
- 15 oz Pinto beans drained and rinsed
- 15 oz Dark red kidney beans drained and rinsed
- 15 oz Tomato sauce
- 15 oz Diced tomatoes
- 3 tbsp Tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Maple syrup
- 3 tbsp Chili powder
- 2 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Cumin
- ½ tsp Smoked paprika
- ½ tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Black pepper
- 1 cup Beef broth
- Cheddar cheese shredded; optional
- Fritos optional
- Green onions optional
Start by heating a large pot over medium-high heat.
Add the ground beef, ground sausage, yellow onion, and minced garlic. Sauté for about 8-10 minutes or until beef is fully cooked.
Drain and return meat to pot.
Then add the pinto beans, kidney beans, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and maple syrup to the mixture. Stir to combine well.
Add the spices and the beef broth. Stir to combine well.
Bring the uncovered chili to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and let the chili simmer for about 10-15 minutes.
Add your delicious toppings, and serve warm!
