Strawberry Waffles
- 6 cups All purpose flour
- ½ cup Granulated sugar
- ¼ cup Baking powder
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 1½ tsp Salt
- 3½ cups Milk
- 1 cup Vegetable oil plus two tablespoons
- 4 Eggs lightly beaten
- 1 cup Chocolate chips I like to use the mini chocolate chips.
To Make Chocolate Chip Waffles
In mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients.
Add all wet ingredients to bowl.
Mix until smooth and well-blended.
Add chocolate chips and mix again for 20-30 seconds.
Preheat waffle maker.
Once waffle maker is adequately heated, add batter to the center of the lower grid. (You can use a measuring cup to do this, filling most of the way. Do not overfill the grids as batter may run over the edges. If you start with center first and spread batter outward with a spatula, you will lesson the chance of the batter running over the sides as waffles cook.)
As you remove each group of cooked waffles from the machine, you may place them on a baking pan in a 300 degree oven while the rest of the waffles cook. This will keep them warm and prevent sogginess.
Garnish with Cool Whip and additional chocolate chips. You can also use syrup and powdered sugar.
