Y’all have no idea how excited I am to share our girls’ unicorn Halloween costumes! These sweet tulle-licious unicorn costumes are magical Halloween costumes for sisters!

Planning and Ordering Halloween Costumes Ahead of Time

One of the things in my teacher life that I am notorious for is trying to plan ahead for all of the fall things while it is still summer break. I mean all. of. the. things. Definitely, this includes planning the sisters’ matching Halloween costumes. Typically, I narrow down three or four options and let them have the final say. This works much better than if I just let them choose something out of thin air. And since the Halloween costumes are not out at stores yet during the summer months, we don’t have the option of letting them run in somewhere and choose something. Of course, if we did that, it would take all the fun out of planning matching Halloween costumes for sisters!

Actually, last year, I did entertain Scooter Britches’ idea of Trolls costumes. They wanted to be the BFF troll sisters – Satin and Chenille – from The Trolls Movie. My mom made them their trolls twin costumes – complete with knitted hats with conjoined hair. The only reason you never saw a blog post on that is because Mama failed and never got good enough photos during Halloween season.

But maybe you did see our kids bug costumes or our girl superhero costumes!

Taking Halloween Photos Ahead of Time

This year, I made sure to not make that mama mistake again, and I took pictures a month before Halloween. Now, my one tried-and-true Mama advice is to always get the Halloween pictures before Halloween night. Even if it is the day before as Halloween night is typically a fast-paced frenzy and the lighting conditions are typically not great that time of year.

Girls’ Unicorn Halloween Costumes for Sisters

I ordered our my girls’ unicorn Halloween costumes from Mia Belle Baby during July of last year – three months ahead of Halloween. The costumes are amazing. The wigs were at extra fee but well worth it. I mean that rainbow unicorn hair on SB is such a stand out! Her costume is a pop star unicorn. And the long pink unicorn princess mane on Little One totally makes her unicorn princess costume!

Once I ordered the costume and wig, there wasn’t much else to put together. The front of SB’s pop star unicorn costume is short so we found some pink tights that she already had at home to wear under the costume. Because the pop star unicorn costume had an edgier vibe, we paired some silver metallic boots she has with the costume. I did wind up trimming the long tulle on the costume because we were going on a hay ride for Halloween and I was concerned it would get too much hay tangled into it.

LO’s unicorn princess costume has a sweeter vibe so we put some of her sweet little slip-on flats with her costume.

Mia Belle Baby also has a couple of other unicorn costume options. I love the bright colors of this rainbow unicorn costume. Man, if only I had two more daughters to dress! We could have a whole tribe of unicorns! (Or is it pack? Herd? Flock? Blessing?)
