I let much of the winter season get away from me and almost forgot to post these dark teal and maroon outfits we wore for our latest family photo shoot.
I did post our burgundy and blue outfits already. They were the second outfit that we wore for our fall shoot. It’s pretty typical for us to wear two different coordinating outfit sets in our photo shoots.
A dark teal color is perfect in the fall and winter season. In fact, I enjoy a good dark teal color in the spring and summer as well. The great thing about dark teal outfits is they coordinate well with so many other colors. Teal outfit ideas abound as teal makes a great partner to red, orange, yellow, gray, etc.

Teal and Maroon Outfits on the Little Ones
I decided to go along with teal and maroon outfits after finding some adorable polka dot overalls for the girls. Unfortunately, Scooter Britches outgrew her overalls just a touch between the time I bought them and the time for our photos. Therefore, I had to come up with a plan B for her. I found a dark maroon tunic to go along with her dark teal leggings. It worked out perfectly.
Once I had my primary colors of dark teal and maroon narrowed down, the rest was easy. It was a matter of adding in neutrals. I was going for warm creams, warm grays, white, and tans. The Hubs threw in a cool-toned gray piece. More on that at the end of the post.
Notice that Little One’s polka dot outfit connects perfectly to SB’s dark teal leggings. And SB’s maroon tunic ties in to LO’s maroon floppy hat and maroon velveteen ballet flats.
Doesn’t Lori Sparkman do such a fantastic job with these girls? Check them out (as well as our other coordinating outfit ideas) in these other photo shoots we have had with Lori.
Teal and Cream Outfits
After much back-and-forth, I settled on a dark jeans outfit for this park setting. (By the way, isn’t Wildwood Park for the Arts in Little Rock an absolute splendid setting?!) To my dark jeans, I paired a teal layering top, a furry cream vest, and cream booties. I also had a floppy wool ranchero style hat.
The Hubs went with more of a gray colored blazer, which was not really part of my overall plan. It threw off my teal and cream outfits vibe a bit. But you know husbands. They have a mind of their own sometimes! Good thing he is handsome!
I hope you found some inspiration either in this post (or one of my other linked outfit posts) for styling your only family for a coordinated photo shoot!
