It’s that time again! Back to school is looming upon on us already. For some of us, that makes us happy. (Yes, parents at home this summer…I’m looking at you!) For others of us, this time of year brings excitement but also some sadness the freedom of summer is just about over. Today, I’m sharing a welcome back to school teacher gift idea with this cleaning supplies gift basket.
Planning Cleaning Supplies Basket for Back to School Teacher Gift
Often, teachers may receive back to school teacher gifts from their new students at the start of the year. This is especially true for the elementary teachers. These back to school gifts might include white board markers, pencils, candy, coffee mugs, etc. Often teachers wind up with a lot of those items – white board markers, for example – because so many students give those and it is often part of the school supply list. One thing we teachers often run out of several months into the year is Kleenex and general classroom cleaning supplies.
Seriously, I can’t tell you how many boxes of Kleenex Facial Tissues, cleaning sprays, and power towels, I have purchased with my own money over the years. Each school district runs differently. In my district, Kleenex is no longer part of the school supply list for my school. And facial tissues are not supplied for the teachers by the district. Therefore, the purchasing of facial tissues for the classroom falls on me.
Occasionally, a bottle of cleaning spray or cleaning wipes will be delivered to our classrooms. But it is hit or miss. For this reason, I like to include Kleenex, paper towels, and other cleaning supplies in the back to school teacher gift baskets.
And there certainly isn’t anything wrong with sending your child’s teachers some fresh Kleenex boxes any old time. I guarantee you the teachers will be running low later in the school year and will appreciate it! I can’t tell you how many times my poor kiddos have to use the rough brown paper towels supplied by the school district for the custodial staff.
Other Cleaning Supplies to Include in Back to School Teacher Baskets
Along with the Kleenex and paper towels, you might choose to add some other cleaning items such as cleaning wipes, cleaning sprays, trash bags, white board cleaner, stain remover, etc. Teachers deal with some yucky stuff, y’all!
These cleaning supply gift baskets make great daycare teacher gifts, preschool teacher gifts, elementary teacher gifts, male teacher gifts, middle school teacher gifts, and high school teacher gifts!
Cleaning supplies baskets are easy and perfect for all teachers! If you want to add a few extra things, you could add in some candy, some red pens or flair pens, some hair ties (for female teachers), plastic storage bags, etc.
When to Deliver Your Teacher Gift Baskets
There are multiple opportunities for delivering back to school teacher gift baskets. Your child can take them as first day of school teacher gifts. In fact, it would be fine to even send the teacher gift basket later in the week. Also, some schools have an open house ahead of the first day of school. The teacher might enjoy receiving a teacher gift basket at open house. Your teachers will be grateful no matter when you send welcome back teacher gifts!
Also, don’t be surprised if you see your teachers using their Kleenex boxes from the teacher gift baskets in a future craft project! Teachers are some resourceful folks! Here you can download the cute little printable to attach to your teacher gift basket.
