Ho ho ho…it’s go time! I hope you all are enjoying the Christmas season thus far! I sure am. This year, things are much more simple than in years past. There are fewer parties and gatherings, which is somewhat sad. But the bright side of that means there is more time for slowing down and enjoying and finding time to do things you might not have done in past Christmas seasons. Lots of people have shown interest in my Rudolph Christmas drink gift idea I shared last year in post on secret Santa ideas for work.
Therefore, I thought I would dedicate a whole post into the idea of making your own Rudolph Christmas drink gifts. The beauty of this simple gift is two-fold.
- You can make these Christmas drink gifts for anyone – children and adults. These children and groups can make up any of your circles of people. You need some budget-friendly, easy party-favor ideas for your child’s classroom party? Bam. You need some easy-on-the-budget but thoughtful ideas for your coworkers? Done. Oh, you need something fun and low-key Christmas gifts for drinkers in your social circle? Bingo.
- As I already mentioned, this drink is budget-friendly but comes across as a thoughtful, extra touch.
You already know I like a cute drink gift! Surely, you have checked out my warmest thanks printable gift tags post and my love bug juices for Valentine’s Day! And coming soon is my Halloween juices post!
How to Make Rudolph Christmas Drink Gifts
Supply List
- 6 pack of favorite sodas, waters, or beer
- 12 pipe cleaners (reds, browns, metallics, or white); optionally, you can use 12 packs of tube candy (Lifesavers, Rolos, etc)
- 6 red pom poms
- 6 hair scrunchies/chunky hair ties, or 6 additional pipe cleaners
- 12 googly eyes
- Optional: drink koozies (will only fit snuggly on the larger size bottles unless you buy the slim koozies/sleeves)
- Hot glue gun
Steps for Making Rudolph Christmas Drinks Gifts
- Pre-heat hot glue gun.
- Separate all the bottles and spread them into a factory-style line up.
- Take 12 pipe cleaners and wind them tightly around your fingers or a pencil until they look like curly cues (as loose or as tight as you wish). If desired, you can trim down the pipe cleaners for shorter antlers. (Skip this step if you wish to use tube candy for the antlers instead of pipe cleaners.)
- With the hot glue gun, glue a red pom pom on the clear plastic “neck” part of the bottle, just under the twist top. Repeat for all bottles.
- Above the pom pom nose, glue the googly eyes as evenly as possible on each bottle onto the upper part of the twist lid.
- Glue two of the curly cue pipe cleaners in a vertical fashion to the back of the “neck” of the reindeer (about half an inch under the lid). Leave about 1/2 to 3/4 inch between the two vertical pipe cleaners. (If using the tube candy instead of the pipe cleaners, do the same. Be sure to add plenty of glue so the candy tubes do not fall.)
- To add a “collar” on the reindeer, slide either a hair scrunchy/thick hair tie up the bottle until you reach the lower “neck” area, or hot glue a third pipe cleaner around the lower neck, wrapping it from end-to-end.
- Optional: slide a drink koozie of your choice onto the bottom of the bottle.
- Admire how cute your Rudolph Christmas drink project turned out!
Who will you gift your cute reindeer Christmas drink gifts to this year? Coworkers? Students? Friends? Neighbors? Delivery service? The possibilities are endless with these cute drink gifts for Christmas! You could do water bottles, various sodas, beer bottles, etc.
The scrunchies and the drink koozies are certainly not necessary, but they do add a nice touch. (By the way, it’s kind of fun to read up on the history of the koozie.) Check out the Harley Davidson koozie my reindeer is sporting in this picture. The person I was buying for had indicated he really like Harley Davidson things so the koozie was just an extra part of his gift for that day’s gift in the Secret Santa game.
You can add a third pipe cleaner to look like a collar instead of using a scrunchie. That is what I did since this particular gift was for a man. You might even add a little jingle bell or some other embellishment to the collar. I thought his metallic collar made him look even more edgy in his Harley Davidson suit. Haha!
Also, notice my Rudolphs have a two-toned red-and-white pom pom. I would prefer solid red, but I was working with the craft materials I already had on hand.
And, of course, if you know what kind of tube candy your person likes, it is also fun to make the version that uses tube candy for antlers rather than the pipe cleaners.
