Apparently, I’ve got retirement on the brain because I have written three retirement themed parties in the last week! Take a look through today as I share about two fun retirement party themes you can organize at school or work. You can believe we teachers like to send out a veteran teacher with great fanfare after surviving a career in these trenches!

Of some of the various teacher retirement party themes at school over the years, I have selected my two favorites below – a coffee break theme and a travel theme party. Over time, I may come back and add more ideas.

Retirement Party Themes: Permanent Coffee Break Theme

A group of teachers at my school did a fantastic job planning a coffee theme party for our end-of-year teacher retirement party. A permanent coffee break theme begs for cute coffee quotes.

From the coffee house themed treats, coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts, and coffee-inspired quotes, this party was so well planned!

This coffee break theme serves best for a retiree who loves a good cup of joe!

What I love about this theme: coffee connects with so many different people. And the idea of a “permanent” coffee break is so exciting for those of us who aren’t close to getting one of those yet.

Retirement Party Themes: Travel Theme

Our school geography and history teachers outdid themselves when they organized a travel retirement theme party for one of our retiring history teachers. Just look at how fun these different travel theme party vignettes are!

Obviously, this theme is best suited for a retiree who loves to travel or has intentions of traveling in the next chapter of life.

What I love about this theme: the vintage vibes, the way each table has a different centerpiece, and the nod to an activity that the honoree has a passion for.
