Making Reese’s Pieces Peanut Butter Cookies
As usual, my girls really enjoy making these cookies with me.
There isn’t a whole lot to this recipe. It is quite straight forward and involves simple mix and drop steps. This is a recipe my girls enjoy making with me as it follows the typical cookie-making steps they are used to. We all know how much children love to scoop and drop cookie dough!
The only thing different than many of our other cookie recipes is the step of pulverizing the oats. But that is also fun for the kids as we don’t pull out our food processor all that often for most of our other recipes.
Using Leftover Halloween Candy for Cookies
We’ve made these cookies with leftover Halloween candy – emptying tons of little bags of Reese’s Pieces cookies into a big bowl until we had enough for eight ounces – about 1 1/4 cup. It takes a lot of little packages, but my girls have fun ripping them open and dumping them.
And we’ve also made these peanut butter Reese’s Pieces cookies using one large purchased package of Reese’s Pieces. Either way works great – as long as you have around one cup and a fourth of the candies.
By the way, this handy food measurement calculator comes in handy when you are attempting to figure out a recipe and change things from ounces to cups or vice versa!
Hope you enjoy these peanut butter cookies with Reese’s pieces!
