Pink Sugar Cookies with Sprinkles Recipe
One holiday season years ago, I went on the hunt for an old fashioned Christmas sugar cookies recipe. In an old cookbook emerged this recipe which I have since adapted for all holiday seasons.
Working with No Chill Dough for Sugar Cookies
This no chill sugar cookie dough is a snap to mix up – especially if you are using a sturdy mixer. We simply move the dough from the mixer to a floured surface since this is a no chill sugar cookie recipe.
On the floured surface, we try to roll the dough to a thickness of about 1/3 of an inch or so. The cookie cutters should glide in and out of the dough very easily.
A batch of this heart cookies dough yields around 36 rolled heart sugar cookies with pink sprinkles.
Using Heart Cookie Cutters for Pink Sugar Cookies
Over the years, I have stocked cookie cutters for all types of seasons, holidays, and events. The base of this sugar sprinkles cookies recipe can truly be made for any occasion.
Seasonally, you can usually find various sizes of heart cookie cutters at Walmart, Kroger, Target, and even the dollar stores. We have some plastic ones and some metal ones. On Amazon, you can find a set of six heart cookie cutters in different sizes.
Using Emoji Cookies Cutters for Smiley Face Cookies
I also have a set of emoji cookie cutters with heart eyes I like to incorporate for Valentine’s Day cookies. Cute smiley face cookies can set the scene for Valentine’s Day just as much as heart cookies can. In fact, you can use a cookie emoji for all types of themes throughout the year – or for just a fun everyday smiley face cookie! They are almost as cute as the smiley face fruit trays by The Produce Moms!
If you are planning to work with different size cookie cutters, it is important to bake similar size cookies together for consistency sake. Personally, I like to try to pick out cookie cutters of similar sizes.
