Valentine’s Day is rolling in soon, and it’s time to think pink with a pink martini amaretto and vodka! Our creamy pink martini with Disaronno is definitely Valentine’s perfect – with its touches of pink frosting and Valentine’s sprinkles. However, switch out the Valentine’s sprinkles for generic pink or other colored ones, and you have a pink martini drink for any girly occasion all year long – pink baby showers, pink bachelorette parties, birthday parties, pink Race for the Cure Events, etc.
Ingredients for a Pink Martini with Amaretto and Vodka
- 2oz Amaretto (We used Disaronno Almond Amaretto Liquor)
- 1oz Vanilla Vodka
- 1oz Chocolate Vodka
- 1oz Half & Half
- 1oz Grenadin OR Maraschini Cherry Juice (which gives the pink flavoring)
- Pink Frosting (You only need enough to rim the glasses; save the rest for a dessert!)
- Valentine’s Sprinkles
- Ice Cubes
What is Disaronno Liquor?
Disaronno Originale is a brand of amaretto. It has as distinct almond-y taste to it, and it complements many other flavors for cocktails.
An Italian brand, Disaronno, produces a gluten-free amaretto that uses a centuries-old ingredient list, according to the Disaronno website.
If you have ever had an amaretto sour when you’ve been out and about, chances are you may have had Disaronno amaretto.
Use Whatever Glass You Have on Hand for Valentine’s Day Martini
No martini glasses at home? Don’t stress about it!
Traditionally, martinis are served in a tall martini glass, which has a distinctive shape that includes a wide rim, a steep slope, and a long stem. However, most any glass can be used to serve a martini, especially if you prefer a more casual or relaxed presentation at home. I believe in trying to work with what I already have so I’m not wasting money on very specific things I will only entertain with ever so often.
The lowball glass, also known as a rocks glass, is a short tumbler that is often used for serving spirits on the rocks or cocktails that are served without ice. The wide and sturdy base of the lowball glass makes it a great choice for serving martinis, as it provides stability and prevents spillage. Using this glass brings a certain modern vibe to a relaxed Valentine’s or ladies night in get together. Personally, I prefer the lowball glasses as I have a tendency to knock over the stemmed glasses! Whoops!
I actually do have a set of martini glasses (only two) at home. But there are plenty of times when I just make due – like with my lack of margarita glasses, etc.
Making Our Pink Martini with Disaronno Festive
We begin by coating the edge of our serving glasses with a bit of frosting. Then we dip the frosted rims into a shallow dish of sprinkles.
Next, we add ice cubes to our cocktail shaker before pouring in all the amaretto, two vodkas, grenadine or cherry juice, and half & half.
Shake, shake, shake!
We pour the pretty pink concoction into our pretty rimmed glassware. Our creamy pink martini is ready to be enjoyed!
Dress Up the Drink with Seasonal/Themed Embellishments
You can add all kinds of fun Valentine’s or girly embellishments to this drink. A festive cocktail napkin or a festive straw will add a lot to this pink martini with Disaronno amaretto.
I find the majority of my seasonal cocktail items at Home Goods/TJ Maxx and Target. Usually one package of cocktail napkins or straws lasts me a few years for each holiday.
