If you are looking for an easy lemonade cocktail for a pitcher, look no further! This simple pink lemonade gin cocktail for a crowd is just what you need! You only need three ingredients for this crowd-pleasing gin lemonade cocktail! I made this for a 1920s cocktail idea, but it works for any type of party.
This drink came to fruition in my kitchen recently when I was brainstorming 1920s party food and drinks to serve at my Roaring 1920s murder mystery party. I wanted something that matched the liquor story of the 1920s…ahem, gin…and also easily served from a pitcher. I called it our “house special: speakeasy lemonade” during the party.
Both lemonade and gin were popular drinks to consume in the 1920s so a lemonade gin cocktail is the perfect Roaring 20s party drink!
Traditionally, a lemonade gin cocktail would likely consist of basic lemonade (not pink). However, I wanted my glasses to carry a bit of pink color at the party so I decided to use a pink lemonade variety. Whether you choose to go with a carbonated, soda type, lemonade or more of a juice version is up to you.
Types of Lemonade to Choose for a Gin Lemonade Cocktail
In my original recipe, I used Simply Lemonade Pink Lemonade from the refrigerated juices section of the grocery store. I have made this pink lemonade gin cocktail multiple times with the Simply Lemonade Pink Lemonade and the Simply Lemonade Strawberry Lemonade. Both are delicious!
Today, I reshot these photos for the purpose of having photos for this blog post so I used what we happened to have here at home – Dole Strawberry Lemonade. It tastes great, too!
One type I would not necessarily recommend would be the carbonated lemonade (soda varieties). Although I do sometimes make cocktails with sodas, I try to be mindful when I make cocktails for a crowd because some people may bloat easily from the carbonation.
Some people feel strongly over particular brands of lemonade and some suggest Milo’s Lemonade is great for cocktails. For the most part, I’m pretty satisfied with most any lemonade I try. I can’t recall that I have tried Milo’s Lemonade in recent years, but I may have to give it another taste!
How to Serve Pink Lemonade Gin Cocktail
This drink is so straight forward. Just set a pitcher out with some cocktail glasses, and let your guests serve themselves! I use 32-ounce pitchers so you may need to adjust your measurements if your pitchers are larger. Just remember to use 2 parts lemonade to 1 part gin.
For garnish, you can either add fresh lemon slices straight into the pitcher. Or you can garnish the individual glasses with fresh lemon slices or wedges. Additionally, you can use dehydrated lemon slices as I did here in my photos.
