We had so much fun coming up with our galaxy party food! A lot of it is ordered from Amazon. I had quick and easy deliveries right to my doorstep. And since I knew exactly what I needed – after some brainstorming – I didn’t have to go searching around. However, many of these items can easily be found at your local Walmart, Kroger, or other favorite grocery store. I price checked before I ordered, and my local Walmart prices were very similar to the Amazon prices for the particular items I was ordering.

Galaxy Themed Party Decorations

The great thing about a galaxy theme party is you can go one of several different directions with decorations – based on the specific theme you chose above.

Star Theme/Celestial Theme Party

If you choose a star theme for your galaxy theme, you can easily decorate with star table cloths, star garlands, star backdrops, and star paper goods. The star garlands come in different colors of gold, rose gold, and silver so you can customize different color schemes for your celestial theme party.

Planet Theme or Outer Space Party Theme

A planet theme or outer space party theme is so fun for birthday parties, school end-of-curriculum parties for solar system studies, and more!

Decorate with outer space table cloths, paper lantern galaxy decorations, a string of planets garland, outer space balloon arch kit, and planet tableware. Of course, you can always go with a solid color table cloth and simply pop in some outer space napkins and plates.

I love the color vibes of galaxy themes – blues, purples, teals, and hot pinks are often a color theme. As a girl mom, I absolutely love this pink outer space party decoration set! (And we used it for our 5th grade graduation “Reach for the Stars” party on our other site!)

Sun and Moon Theme

Sun and moon go together like peanut butter and jelly! It can be so fun to decorate with the sun and the moon as they are a perfect pair.

Use sun themed tablecloths with a large paper moon cut out hanging over head. You can also use this cute sun and moon balloon kit for a kid’s party.

A simple letter board with the party theme quote always adds an extra touch! I would recommend not displaying words on the garland in addition to a letter board with the same quote. It might be a bit much. But you could use a letter board with the quote and then simply a garland of planets.
