Hello! Today, I’m sharing this show-stopping frozen orange creamsicle drink – a refreshing orange Fanta ice cream float – our latest in our Frozen Flavor series for ice cream drinks. This orange ice cream float is showy enough for special occasions but easy enough for an after-school treat.
If you’ve ever done much observing about ice cream floats, you will see there are two camps. In one camp are those who believe the ice cream goes into the glass first. In the other are the folks who believe the soda goes in first to eliminate excess foam. I am a staunch member of the first camp. I want all the frothy goodness I can get out of a float!
The Favorite Ice Cream Float Award Goest to this Orange Creamsicle Drink
I think if I were to crown a winner of all the flavor combos we’ve worked with so far, this orange creamsicle ice cream float would be sporting a shiny tiara.
If this thing isn’t a beauty, I don’t know what is! It was almost too pretty to drink. And, oh, my! Just one taste will bring memories of the happy (and safe) ice cream truck days, when we would run out into the street with our quarters for an orange creamsicle or an orange push-pop.
Choosing Orange Soda for an Orange Ice Cream Float
We are featuring an orange Crush ice cream float, but you can easily make a Fanta ice cream float, or use any other orange soda brand. Another leading orange soda is Crush orange soda. Any of them should give you this gorgeous orange color and bubbling perfection!
Making ice cream floats doesn’t get any easier: a couple of scoops of ice cream or sherbet and flavored soda.
Join us next time for another ice cream drink concoction in our Frozen Flavor series. What kind of ice cream drink person are you: floats, shakes, malts?

I love ice cream floats. I haven’t had one for many years though. I bet they would be still very delicious. I must admit I’m of the camp who would put my lemonade in first and then top. Sorry!

Doesn’t it, Andrea? I remember making floats at home when I was a kid. We only did Coke or Root Beer, but they were so yummy!
