The Christmas season passed us by once more! Now, it’s time to start thinking of New Year’s Eve. Are you a stay at home in jammies or a dress up and hit the town type of person? I used to be the latter until having children. For the last eight years, we have been more of the Noon Year’s Eve party types! We also spend some years attending family-friendly New Year’s Eve events with kids.
Today, I’m sharing a round up with lots of great ideas for your family whether you are searching for Noon Year’s Eve party ideas or ideas for New Years eve events with kids. Check out the fun ideas shared by these collaborating bloggers! Some of the ideas are so simple while others involve a bit more prep.
Noon Year’s Eve Party for Kids at the Library
A few years ago, I took my girls to a Noon Year’s Eve party (held from 11 a.m. to noon), hosted by our local library. Our library has a wonderful children’s program. The library Noon Year’s Eve event involved a cute New Year’s Eve children’s book, read by one of the library staff members.
Afterward, all the children were given black construction paper, metallic paints, and some toilet paper rolls that were cut along the edges. When the girls stamped down the stampers, the black paper came alive with metallic fireworks. The toilet paper roll firework craft is such a cute idea for New Year’s or July 4! Once we finished with the painting activity, the kids were all given small plastic cups of white grape juice. The librarian made a countdown to noon for the noon year, complete with a ball drop and noisemakers. And everyone toasted with their grape juice. It was an adorable Noon Year’s Eve party!
Pajama Party for Parents and Kids for New Year’s Eve
Also, for most of the last nine years that we have been parents, my husband and I have been blessed with great friends who have hosted family-friendly New Year’s Eve gatherings, and all I really had to do was show up with an appetizer to share. Once the pandemic started, I was on my own to figure out fun ways to make the night enjoyable for my girls. My favorite thing to do is to stay in our jammies, order in Mexican food, make a festive dessert to share, and play games. This year, I am trying some more New Year’s Eve themed activities thanks to these other blogger who are sharing their great ideas!
