We had the best time last year hosting our mom-and-me Galentine’s brunch! We invited some of our closest neighborhood friends and their moms to join us for a Saturday morning Galentine’s brunch. We had such fun planning, decorating, and preparing food for the party!
Years ago, we hosted our first little girl’s Galentine’s party – it was more preschool focused at the time. But it was such a sweet time! It was such fun to plan another one!

Select Your Galentine’s Party Decor Theme
There are lots of clever styles to choose from when decorating for a Valentine’s or Galentine’s party. We went with a basic pink, red, and white theme with a few touches of gold. Pops of pink and red all over make any home a Galentine’s worthy event!
But you can also go more glam and go full on gold and light pink. Or take a rose gold spin to it.
We chose decorations from Amazon that could be reused for future parties – linked at the end of this post. The tissue-paper hearts make a big statement, and if you are careful with the sticky fasteners, you can flatten them back out to store for the next year.
The tinsel hearts on the wall were some I had picked up at Dollar Tree the year before and hung together to make a trio for bigger impact.
I used many things I already had for our Galentine’s brunch – such as all the table runners and white serving pieces.
We picked up these heart picks years ago at a Dollar Tree and have probably used them 5-6 Valentine’s Days in a row now. I love popping them into any little spot – like plant vases!
Consider this Galentine’s Party Favor Idea
We displayed heart-shaped bath bombs that look like Conversation Hearts candy in a pretty basket on the dining table. This way, our party favors also worked as decor. At the end of the party, all the gals and moms took one home.
I just loved the “Love My Gals a Brunch” banner that I hung on the mantel! It’s a fun touch. I kept the rest of the mantel simple – with some heart planters that I bought years ago and one wooden heart.
Serve Mom-and-Me Galentine’s Brunch Party Food
The most planning went into our Galentine’s brunch food. There are so many options out there that you can get bogged down with what to narrow down.
You could do a DIY bagel bar, DIY waffle bar, DIY pancake bar, etc. I love the idea of a pancake bar. Valentine’s Day pancakes are super fun! Also, you could prepare a beautiful breakfast charcuterie loaded with fruit, mini waffles and other bite-sized items.
We decided to make heart cinnamon rolls (from a can for ease), bacon, heart-shaped toast with heart butter, and fruit skewers with heart-shaped strawberries. We also made simple egg cups which feature egg, ham, and cheese. Instead of the cinnamon rolls, pink donuts would have been another cute option.
Our foods weren’t as fancy or as perfect as you might see at other Galentine parties. But it was all made with love and my two Galentine gals did most of the work. I love that they prepared the food for their friends!
Note that we tried two methods to get the heart-shaped cinnamon rolls. We were using the store-bought tubes of cinnamon rolls that are actually more like cinnamon biscuits (without the typical rolled design).
First, we used heart cookie cutters, as seen below to force the dough into heart shapes. We found this method did not work that well as the dough spread out too much during baking.
Our second method was to bake the cinnamon roll dough as usual and then take a knife to hand-cut a heart shape after they were already baked. This turned up a more clear heart-shape design. (Don’t worry, the cut off scraps didn’t go to waste around here!)
Send Invitations for a Mom-and-Me Galentine’s Brunch
We sent a super fancy invite out – a digital graphic I created in Canva and sent out in a text message – haha! In the invitation, we encouraged everyone to wear red or pink if they had any.
Of course, you can order super cute invitations at Walgreens, Shutterfly, and mail or hand-deliver them a few weeks in advance. Or you can send a digital invitation that you make on Canva or other graphic design websites. On Canva, you can design your invitation and also have them printed, if you so desire. Or you can just download the image or PDF and send them out digitally.
Valentine’s Crafts
With kids, it’s always nice to be well-planned with some sort of activity. This time of year, Valentine’s Day crafts and STEM activities are in abundance. We did some simple Valentine’s Day crafts after we ate. The craft kits were little love bug hand-stitching kits – perfect for Valentine’s Day. Once upon a time, I found those crafts at Target, and they’ve just been hanging out in my Valentine’s Day decor bucket, waiting for their turn in the spotlight.
A fun time was had at our mom and me Galentine’s brunch by our neighborhood mom and daughter friends!
