The season of red, white, and blue is fast approaching! Today, we have an adorable layered mocktail with grenadine recipe to share. This lively patriotic mocktail is ideal for entertaining a house full of kids or adults during the week of the Fourth of July! It is also a perfect Olympic drink to bring some household festivities when supporting the Olympics! Team USA, all the way!
Serving this Layered Mocktail with Grenadine for Fourth of July
We love serving this after all the grilling and snacking on pool days or July 4th get togethers. It is an easy patriotic mocktail to serve.
The only thing is that you have to make it in batches since you will be layering the colored liquid carefully. We recommend this drink for a smaller group since you will likely not want to be tied up all day in the kitchen while everyone else is outside having fun!

Expert Tips for Layering Drinks with Blue Poweraid
- Use clear, tall glasses: A clear, tall glass will allow you to see the different layers of the drink as you pour them in.
- Chill the Powerade: Cold drinks tend to separate less, so make sure your Powerade is nice and cold before you start layering.
- Use an ice cube or a spoon: Place a spoon over the top of the glass, with the tip of the spoon touching the inside of the glass just above the first layer. Slowly pour the second layer over the back of the spoon. This will help to slow down the pouring and create a more defined layer. You can achieve a similar effect with an ice cube.
- Use a light touch: When pouring each layer, try to pour it gently and slowly so that it doesn’t disturb the layer below it.
- Choose compatible liquids: If you want to create a layered drink with blue Powerade, try using other clear or light-colored liquids that won’t overpower the blue color. The piña colada juice works well here in this recipe.
- Experiment with ratios: The amount of each liquid you pour into the glass will affect how the layers look. Experiment with different ratios to achieve the desired effect.
