Girls night out is one of the best things of life, is it not? There is just something about leaving all your work cares, life drama, and exhaustion behind for a few hours of laughs and stories with your girlfriends. A few weeks ago, I wrote a list of ideas for ladies night in (linked at the very end of this post). Today, I’m sharing a list of 33 girls night out ideas!
As someone who has mingled within many different ladies groups in my day, I am more than aware that each ladies group has its own vibe. Some vibes are mellow and just want to chill with a quiet dinner and talking. Other groups are more energetic and want to stay busy doing something while they chat.
Some groups of friends like the familiarity of doing the same routine every time. Yet, other groups of lady friends prefer to change it up every time and try something new.
While some groups of ladies don’t mind splurging on tickets, fancy dinners, or pricey drinks, not everyone is in that same boat. Some groups prefer to stick to a reasonable price line when it comes to meals and other ladies night out ideas.

Once that task is done, your group goes out for ice cream, coffee, dinner and drinks as a way to treat yourselves after doing something nice for someone/something else.
Tips for Planning Girls Night Out with a Group
Pick One Standard Night a Month to Meet
It’s best to pick one routine night a month for ladies night out. Otherwise, it is very likely there will be more talking about doing it than actually doing it. You know – a best of intentions kind of thing that we all do. We talk about how we need to get together, yet much of the time we don’t actually make it happen! Choosing a specific day on the calendar monthly ensures the ladies night out will happen monthly – even if sometimes one or two people have to miss due to other obligations.
Rethink Ladies Night on Monday or Sunday
While you are planning this specific day of the month, think twice before choosing ladies night on Monday. We learned the hard way that many small businesses and restaurants – the local restaurants and attractions, especially – tend to be closed on Mondays because that is the standard day off many businesses take after working through the weekend.
Monday is often a good day for lots of ladies when it comes to ladies night out. For one thing, there are not typically many church activities, and many kids’ sports activities are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays (at least in my area). Also, people tend to not flake out as much because they aren’t as exhausted on Mondays as they might be later in the week.
While Monday may seem like an easier day for the majority of your group, you might want to check first to see how many of your favorite local establishments will be open on Mondays. The same may be true for Sundays.
Don’t Guilt Trip Friends Who Can’t Make It to Girls Night Out
Believe me. There will be friends who can’t make it to some of the ladies night out adventures. In fact, there will be some who barely ever make it. And there will be other friends who may never make it out once. Nothing good comes from guilt tripping friends.
As I’ve seen over the years, it’s best to just be happy with who shows up and let your friends know you missed them (without being too pushy or guilt-trippy about it).
Be Happy with Whatever Options Your Town Has to Offer
I’m from a small town, and I went to college in a small town. I know all about it when it comes to the fact that smaller towns – especially rural areas – don’t have as many offerings for entertainment, dining, and excursions. There isn’t a whole lot you can do about it – other than make sure you are making plenty of your own with your girls night out ideas wherever you go! Paint that town red, no matter where it is or how small it is!
