Thank goodness for frozen breakfast foods or my family would probably never get out the door in the mornings! Over the last couple years, we have come to rely on our air fryer for breakfast in a flash. These frozen waffles in the air fryer are no exception! Read on to see how to get your air fryer frozen waffles cooked to a perfect consistency!
Cooking Eggo Waffles in the Air Fryer
We’ve always used frozen Eggo waffles in the air fryer so I can’t really give you a review on any other brand for air fryer waffles.
You can buy frozen waffles at most any grocery store in the frozen breakfast foods area. They are sold in a multi-pack and will keep in the freezer for a long while. We typically buy Eggo Waffles Homestyle or Eggo Waffles Thick and Fluffy at Kroger or Walmart.
How Long to Cook Frozen Waffles in the Air Fryer
With our Phillips 2 quart air fryer, we have always found the magic number to be 5-6 minutes at 400 degrees. Of course, all air fryers are different. You might wish to start your first batch at 375 degrees to see how things go. I would also suggest eyeballing the waffles a few minutes before the timer goes off – especially the first time you are making this recipe.
Try your best to keep the waffles from overlapping too much. With a small air fryer like ours, it is tough.
After four minutes, we flip our Eggo waffles in the air fryer basket and cook for two minutes longer. Be careful so as not to tear the waffles.
When you remove the waffles from the basket, they should be golden with crispy edges like these air fried Eggo Homestyle Waffles.
They should be tender enough to cut with a fork.
What to Serve With This Breakfast Item
Sometimes, I serve my girls just a few waffles on their own. Other times, we serve them alongside some fruit or a slice of bacon – like with these Eggos Thick and Fluffy Waffles below.
Don’t forget you can add any ingredient from any of our recipes straight to your Insta Cart shopping card right through the recipe cards here at Planted in Arkansas! It’s so easy and convenient!
