In March of this year (2019), we Americans were introduced to a Chick-fil-A frosted key lime drink. We raved about it. We hit the drive through regularly for that tart and tangy key lime pie drink! Then, at the end of May, Chick-fil-A removed it from the menu as it was a seasonal item. Be sad no longer for, today, I share my copycat Chick-fil-A frosted key lime. And with two (optionally, three) ingredients, this key lime frosted drink couldn’t be easier!
You may have already tried some of my other frosted ice cream drinks like the blue-raspberry frosted lemonade, spicy watermelon frozen lemonade, caramel apple float, or my orange creamsicle ice cream float. My girls and I love ice cream drinks, and the girls love to help me make them. This copycat Chick-fil-A frosted key lime drink is no exception. It is the perfect cooking with kids recipe.
What You Need to Make a Copycat Chick-fil-A Frosted Key Lime Drink
What do you need to make this tangy ice cream drink? Two things. Maybe three.
I have made this key lime frosted drink two different ways. To be honest, my husband and I can’t tell much difference between the two versions. Meaning, if you don’t have the third ingredient (lime juice), you are fine without it. I use vanilla ice cream and Simply Limeade juice. My local Walmart carries the Simply Limeade.
From the moment I tried the frosted key lime at Chick-fil-A, I knew I could easily create something very similar simply by following my blueberry frosted lemonade recipe and switching out some flavors. Truly, who doesn’t love a good Chick-fil-A copycat recipe?!
How to Make This Key Lime Pie Drink
Pull out your blender. Next, add five to six cups vanilla ice cream. (For a slightly thicker drink, go with six cups of ice cream.) Next, add one cup of Simply Limeade. Those are your two main ingredients. Now, if you happen to have some key limes on hand or even a bottle of key lime juice, you can add 1/8 cup of lime juice to the blender. If you don’t have the limes or the lime juice, no worries. Finally, blend up the ice cream and the Simply Limeade for 20-30 seconds, and you are good to go! Seriously, this key lime pie drink can be ready in less than two minutes!
This recipe makes two decent servings. If you are serving more, double the ingredients. Garnish with some whipped cream and some graham cracker crumbs for an ice cream drink that tastes like key lime pie!
