Spring has sprung! Today, I am sharing some front porch spring ideas with Kimberly Queen ferns on front porch adorned by pink porch decor and teal porch decor. I just love styling a modern front porch to complement our painted front porch door.
As a bonus, I’ve joined up with some great blogger gals to share their front porch spring ideas also! They have such clever and modern front porch ideas that might just be worth stealing for later.
You might remember my previous turquoise door and spring porch post from earlier. Or maybe you saw it adorned with my autumn decorations. Yep, the painted front porch door with its turquoise door is still stealing the show over here on our little corner of the world. When choosing decor for my spring front porch, it is fun to choose bright colors to complement the bright turquoise.
This year, I decided to go with a hot pink pop on the porch with accents of black and white. Many times, I tend to add in more than one bright accent color. But this year, I’m feeling a different vibe. From the street, I like seeing the flashes of pink against our Cape Cod style home exterior. And I do so love this blooming purple Redbud tree – even if it does bring a swarm of bees! This tree is always the first thing to bloom at our house. As you see, the grass has yet to turn green and none of our perennials have bloomed yet.
Ferns on Front Porch with Pink Bromeliad Plant
The Kimberly Queen ferns were the first find for the porch this year. I love to see front porch ferns flanking doors or hanging from the ceiling on porches. But Kimberly Queen ferns on front porches are beautiful any way you display them – hanging, flanking, in singular display, etc.
These are two Kimberly Queen ferns from my local Lowe’s.
Tip: the main success in keeping Kimberly ferns on the front porch in a highly-lit area is to keep them moist – especially in summer. My plant guy directs to keep the soil for ferns moist but “not muddy.”
On the side of the porch, I added a Macho fern to the plant stand beside our name plaque.
Macho ferns also need to be kept moist while displayed on a porch. You can see here my Macho fern is a little thirsty looking. He needs a good drink.
Oh, and isn’t my pink bromeliad plant absolutely gorgeous!? I actually bought it for inside as a houseplant. However, while styling the front porch, I decided to bring it out and just see how it looks. I love it! Unfortunately, as bromeliad plants cannot handle much direct sunlight, it will soon go back inside. But I am going to enjoy it out here for a short while, anyway!
Pink Porch decor and Teal Porch Decor for a Spring Porch Refresh
For now, I am keeping my black-and-white chevron runners on the porch until I find something I like better. I have been on the hunt for new front porch runners. So far, nothing is tickling my fancy. But the search continues! I did add a new door mat from Kirkland’s to layer over the runner.
Our original black metal front porch benches were spruced up for spring with some new pillows in graphic patterns from IKEA. I went for black-and-white patterns with a few punches of pink in varying shades. Hopefully, they won’t meet the fate of some of the pillows that came before by flying into the muddy flower beds with help from the wind.
The two side tables are finds from Hobby Lobby a few years ago. I still love them as much as when I bought them! Sometimes, I add ferns underneath to fill out the basket bottom of the tables.
Additional hot pink porch decor items on the porch – like the wreath, the citronella candle, and the hot pink throw – bring more pink spring ideas to the front porch. A few pops of teal porch decor items also bring it all together with the teal painted porch door.
