The most wonderful time of the year has arrived! I’ll spare you the “Happy fall, ya’ll” quotes. But it really is hard to hide my excitement! Today, I’m sharing this year’s fall decorations for home. I realized I have not shared fall decor in a couple of years which is really not like me!
Let’s start with the fall mantle.
Fall Mantle Decor
I’ve mentioned before that I am pretty mediocre at decorating fall mantles. It is the one spot in the house that stresses me the most.
There is also the fact that I really despise the reflective black tile around our fireplace. One of these days, we will do something about it. For now, I just have to deal. No matter how I decorate, that darn reflective tile winds up bothering me in some kind of way.
This year, I was determined to not buy too much new fall harvest decor. I wanted to try to use what I already had around the house. But you know what they say about best laid plans…
To my dismay, I actually had a hard time finding new fall decor pieces I was interested in at the stores. Much of it carries a traditional tone. And I’m just not a traditional decor kind of gal. Don’t get my wrong. It’s all beautiful in the stores and in other people’s homes. But the traditional pieces just don’t vibe with the energy of my house, I find.
Finally, I found the cute “Hello Fall” sign at Kirkland’s. The two wicker pumpkins are from At Home. And the draped greenery is from Hobby Lobby. Luckily, most of the stores were already having a fall decor clearance sale so I didn’t spend too much.
I am such a sucker for a good blue and orange fall decor combination!
To the left of the mantle, on the TV console, I added my favorite teal ceramic pumpkin.
Kitchen Fall Decor
I kept things pretty simple in the kitchen this year. The metal pumpkin in the breakfast nook is one I have had for years and years. It used to house a candle. Lately, I prefer to add a small succulent or snake plant. By the way, don’t forget to check out my post on inexpensive fall decor with houseplants.
Simple Fall Decorations for Home Dining Rooms
Last year, I set up a more elaborate orange and teal pumpkin table. This year, I wanted a simple, understated table.
The black tray is from At Home. The two small striped and polka dot pumpkins are from Kirkland’s. The other items I already had. The striped pumpkin is actually a Halloween pumpkin with a jack 0′ lantern face on the other side. You can see more of it here in my Halloween captions post.
And there are my fall decorations for home – for the living room, kitchen, and dining spaces! I hope you found it to be modern yet cozy!
And…well, I just can’t help myself…
Happy fall, ya’ll!
