Why We Love Our Easter Bunny Charcuterie Board
Take a creative approach to the assembly process. Start by choosing a tray or board. Cover it with a spring-like fabric, if desired. Putting together this Easter bunny snack board will give you both a delicious Easter charcuterie board but also a fun table decoration at the same time! It’s so pretty that no one ever wants to be the first person to start pulling from it!
Ingredients
- 2 tangerines
- 2 1/2 ounces salami
- 1 Camembert cheese round (or Brie cheese round)
- 3 ounces prosciutto or ham
- 1/3 cup mozzarella
- 1/4 cup pecans of your choice
- 1/3 cup Easter candy, candied jalapeños, or olives (something snackable to fill a little bowl)
- 1 1/2 ounces blueberry goat cheese
- 1 ounce thinly sliced hard cheese
- 2 cups pretzels or wheat crackers
- 4 marshmallows (some pink and some white – preferably the large ones so you can slice long “ears” from them)
- 2 candy eyes
- Mint, daisies for decoration
Note, we made our bunny a little whimsical and funny looking. However, you could easily make yours look a little more…ahem…serious, if you wish!
Recipe Tips for Easter Bunny Charcuterie Board
As you see, we use Camembert cheese to make our Easter bunny cheese in this board. You can easily substitute Brie cheese – another rind cheese – if you prefer. We like to include a variety of cheeses in our boards, ranging from soft brie to sharp cheddar, and a mix of cured meats like salami, prosciutto, and pepperoni for a well-balanced flavor combination.
For an Easter charcuterie board like this one, we include tasty fruits in pastel colors – like green grapes to pink strawberries to add pops of color and freshness to the board.
You don’t have to make the decorative flower cheese pieces, but I will say a few flowers add to the whimsical presentation!
Process for Layering the Easter Bunny Charcuterie Board
- Cut the cheese slices in half, overlap the halves. Roll the cheese strips into a roll and secure with a toothpick. The result is a cheese flower. Fold the salami into four pieces. Stack the salami slices in pairs.
- Prepare the board. We chose a board with four recesses for dips. You can choose a regular board and add cute bowls to it. Mash the blueberry goat cheese with a fork and place in one recess. Place the Easter candy, nuts, and mozzarella in the other three cavities.
- Unwrap the Camembert. Cut the cheese in half. Cut one of the halves into 6 pieces. Set one part aside. Arrange the 5 pieces some distance apart. Make marshmallow bunny ears and nose and place on top of the cheese. Place the candy eyes. (You can always use black olives for the eyes, if you prefer.) Fresh mint makes the whiskers.
- Place the prepared food and prosciutto on the board. Place the bunny cheese in the center.
- Fill the empty space with tangerine slices and crackers. Do not put all the crackers in at once, you can add more as they disappear. Decorate the board with the mint and flowers, additional Easter-y toppings just before serving.
Substitutions and Variations for Easter Bunny Charcuterie Board
- Experiment with different cheeses, such as cheddar, Gouda, or goat cheese, to provide diverse flavor profiles.
- Not a fan of salami? Consider using any deli meat of your choice that carries a pink color. Ham is perfect for Easter!
- Select one or two unconventional spreads like fruit jams or spicy pepper jelly to elevate the flavor profile. One of our favorite spicy pepper jelly versions is candied jalapeño jelly. It is the absolute best! My friend sells it in her shop, and I always stock up ahead of the holidays.
- Of course, you are free to switch out any of the fruit. In place of the orange tangerines, you could use green grapes or pink/red raspberries.
Storage and Advance Prep
- To store your Easter charcuterie board, carefully cover it with plastic wrap or aluminum foil, ensuring that the wrapping does not disturb the arrangement of the cheeses, meats, and garnishes. I like to tent the foil so it doesn’t touch the cheese. Refrigerate the board promptly to preserve the freshness of the ingredients, and when ready to serve again, allow it to come to room temperature for about 20-30 minutes since the Camembert is a soft cheese and should be served at more of a room temperature.
- Personally, I do not like to store the crackers and such on the platter. I just add those crunchy items on just before serving. For advanced preparation of an Easter-bunny charcuterie board, you can pre-cut some of the cheeses and cured meats to save time on the day of the event. Arrange non-perishable garnishes and snacks, such as crackers, nuts, or dried fruits, in separate containers for easy placement later. Additionally, you can prepare any specialty spreads or dips a day ahead and keep them stored in the fridge.
Easter Bunny Charcuterie Board

- Place the prepared food and prosciutto on a board. Place the bunny in the center.
- Fill the empty space with tangerine slices and pretzels/crackers. Do not put all the crackers in at once, you can add more as they disappear. Decorate the board with the additional mint and flowers. Add any extra Easter-y toppings you wish if you still have space on your board.
