As the holiday season approaches, I love the idea of spreading some cheer to the hardworking delivery drivers who keep our gifts and goodies arriving on time! For the last few years, I have set up a little treat station on the front porch with my cheery delivery driver treats printable and an assortment of snacks and drinks. I stock a basket with individually wrapped treats and drinks. If you’re looking for a simple way to say thank you to some of the service folks that keep our world spinning during this time of year, I highly recommend creating your own station of snacks for delivery drivers. Saying Thanks to Service Workers and Delivery Workers
My dad was a postal service letter carrier for my entire childhood – up until his retirement when I was in my adulthood. His clients used to treat him with all sorts of goodies as a way to say thanks. I always looked forward to him coming home from work during the holiday season to see what treats we had gotten that day! Ha!
So for my entire adulthood, I have made sure to know my letter carriers, my waste management workers, and my deliverers feel seen and appreciated.
It’s such a simple gesture, but I can’t tell you how rewarding it feels to see their smiles and hear their thank-yous as they grab a little something before walking away. A few times I have been outside in the driveway, and some of them have called out a thank you to me.
Look at how one of the delivery drivers wrote a thank you message on one of my boxes with a black marker. It was a fun surprise to find!
Snacks to Put in a Delivery Driver Treats Station
You really don’t have to spend that much to set up a delivery driver treats station. At the grocery store, you can pick up a large box of treats and a box of assorted chips. Or just one or the other. I like to also put out some bottled water.
For a true budget-friendly but thoughtful gesture, you could simply set out a basket of candy canes with a sweet note or my delivery drivers printable. Any gesture is appreciated!
Personally, I do like to put out some treats that might not be the same snacks they get daily. Read on for some ideas of snacks I have put out over the years. As the snacks get wiped out, I fill them up with other things. Chances are the same delivery drivers will be by my house more than once!
- Sour Patch Kids (surprisingly, these are usually the first to disappear from the delivery driver snack basket)
- Flipz
- Peanut butter and crackers
- Cheese and crackers
- Little Debbie Christmas tree cakes (a hit!)
- Little Debbie or Hostess blueberry muffins
- Packaged cookies
- Doritos bags
- Cheetos bags
- Candy canes
- M&Ms
- Water bottles
- Bottles of tea
- Gatorades
- Bottled sodas
Printing Your Delivery Driver Treats Printable
All you have to do is click on this link for your free printable delivery drivers snack sign. Then, you will print it off. Notice, that I simply just print mine in black-and-white. My color printer is out of color ink as much as it has is so I just print mine letter in black-and-white and pop it into a clear protective sheet protector with a rid rim. The red gives it just the pop of color it needs to stand out.
Of course, if my printer had color ink at the time I needed to print, I probably would have printed my delivery driver treats printable in color. Do what works for you!
As for the overall set up, I simply grab an unused planter stand from my back porch along with an unused basket for the snacks. Then, with a binder clip, I clip the sheet protector with the sign to the basket.
Happy holidays to you and all your helpful delivery drivers, too!
