Type of Stuffing for Thanksgiving Sliders (Or Dressing!)
When it comes to making the perfect Thanksgiving sliders, the type of stuffing or dressing you use can make all the difference. Some popular options include traditional bread stuffing, cornbread stuffing, or even sausage stuffing. You can also experiment with different herbs and spices to add extra flavor, such as sage, thyme, or rosemary.
For a vegetarian option, try using a wild rice stuffing or a mushroom stuffing. Ultimately, the key is to choose a stuffing or dressing that complements the flavors of the turkey and cranberry sauce, while also adding a satisfying texture to the sliders. Even if you take a shortcut, there are so many varieties of packaged stuffings, that surely you can find one you will love.
In my family, we have been eating the same dressing for years and years. It is my late aunt’s dressing recipe that the rest of the aunts and my mom have adopted. It is a more moist style of dressing as opposed to the more crumbly stuffing variations I have tried. But the important thing is that you can use whatever leftover dressing or stuffing you have left from your Thanksgiving dinner!
How to Make Cranberry Turkey Sliders with Hawaiian Rolls
First, preheat your oven to 350°F. Then, slice a package of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom half of a 9×13 baking dish.
Next, add a layer of sliced turkey, a layer of stuffing, and then add a layer of cranberry sauce. (Optionally, you can spread a layer of canned cranberry sauce over the rolls to start with and then add a second layer over the stuffing. This is a lot of cranberry sauce so you have to really love the sauce. Some might find it overkill.)
Cover with slices of cheese. Then, place the top half of the rolls on top.
On the stove, boil a combination of butter, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, mustard, and brown sugar.
Brush the tops of the rolls with the butter mixture, cover the dish with foil, and place in the fridge for at least two hours (and up to overnight).
Finally, bake in the oven for 15 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Once done, let cool for a few minutes before slicing into individual sliders and serving. These cranberry turkey sliders with Hawaiian rolls are perfect for a quick and easy lunch or dinner, and are sure to be a hit with the whole family!
