With summer bearing upon us, this blue raspberry frozen lemonade is a no-brainer! Made with ice cream, flavored lemonade, and fresh fruit, this ice cream drink with blue raspberry flavor is so refreshing!
I have made this blue raspberry lemonade ice cream drink for years now. It can be made a variety of different ways using three simple ingredients: vanilla ice cream, flavored lemonade, and fresh fruit.
I came across this version by playing around with the 1/3 of a bottle of Simply Lemonade Blueberry Lemonade which was left in my fridge from my latest round of blueberry lemonade spritzers. I also had fresh blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, grapes, pineapple, apples, and mangos. Nothing like a whole bunch of fresh fruit in your kitchen to make you brainstorm recipes!
It’s a perfect cooking with kids recipe because of the simplicity of both ingredients and process.
Making Blue Raspberry Lemonade Ice Cream Drink
To start, you simply add all three of your ingredients to the blender and blend for about 30 seconds or so.
Two Versions of Blue Raspberry Frozen Lemonade
Using Raspberry Lemonade
You can use the Simply Lemonade Raspberry Lemonade and made the blueberry raspberry lemonade by adding fresh blueberries.
Using Blueberry Lemonade
You can use the Simply Blueberry Lemonade and add fresh raspberries.
Both methods would get you a blue raspberry flavor. Truly, I think it will come out delicious no matter what!
This blueberry raspberry lemonade ice cream drink truly is a refreshing treat! It has a nice berry flavor and texture and is not too sweet. Best of all, it takes no time to make when Little One starts her demands for “ice keeem.”
Speaking of LO, here’s a funny little take away for you:
One day, when LO was about eight months, nap-rebel SB, all of 2-years-old and filled with sage advice for little sis, leans over the crib and says, “You take nap now, Beebie Sissy. You take nap now (voice lowering drastically while sly smile spreads and eyes cut my direction to see if I am paying attention), and you get ice keeem!”
And just last week, I overheard SB (now 4) whispering to LO (now 2) about how she “better be good and not difficult because if we are good, we get ice cream!”
LO responded with an indignant, “I no diddocult! You diddocult one!”
Haha! LO is clearly in denial of her two-year-old behavior.
But back to the ice cream thing…what little stinkers! Seriously, I only bribe them with ice cream when I am hanging on by a thread, typically during a desperate battle of the wills over nap time. That’s it!
Nap time. The perfect time to sit down and take in one of these blue-raspberry frosted lemonade drinks.
