The beauty of fall is upon us, and that means…fall family photoshoot time! I can’t wait to show these navy blue and mustard yellow outfits we wore during the second half of our fall family photoshoot.
Earlier, I posted about the olive and pink outfits in our fall family pictures. We usually pose in two different outfits for our fall family photoshoot. As usual, our photos were taken by the great Lori Sparkman in Little Rock. And then there were our boho chic outfits for our family photos. Also, we had our cotton field family photos. Then there are our leopard outfits and our navy and pink outfits. We can’t forget the burgundy and blue outfits!
Lori has taken all of our family photos since the Hubs and I got engaged. She took our first fall family photos as a family of three. She also took our fall family photos in black and pink after we became a family of four.
I just love how she captures the true energy of our little turkeys. They hold nothing back when Lori is behind the camera! Just take a look for yourselves…
It truly is a shame these two didn’t come with any personality.
I mean how can I possibly choose just one or two to print?
Okay, enough about the delightfully adorable children and more about our fall family photoshoot outfits in mustard yellow and navy blue.
Navy Blue and Mustard Outfits
Our casual fall outfits involve more than just navy blue and mustard yellow. Obviously, the girls dresses offer loud pops of color which I absolutely love against the two-tone of the blue and mustard. Their dresses are from Gap Kids, and I couldn’t love them more! They have the perfect flow and bell sleeves.
In my opinion, the mustard yellow and navy blue color palette work well in fall. Just think of how pretty the yellow leaves of the trees look flying against the deep blue of the sky on a pretty fall day. Blue and mustard outfits totally work – especially with the pops of orange, red, and purple.
My mustard yellow fall dress is from Old Navy. I layered it with a plain denim jacket which coordinated with Little One’s denim jacket and the Hubs’ pants. His navy sweater and distressed jeans are from Men’s Wearhouse.
Formula for Coordinating Casual Fall Outfits for a Family of Four
I think our coordinating outfits work because of the following formula.
- Both girls have a matching main piece (dress) but the complete outfits do not match entirely
- One girl has a layered piece which matches mom’s layered piece (at least in color)
- Dad is wearing one solid color that matches one daughter and/or mom (in this case his navy blue sweater matches both denim jackets)
- There are extra pops of color involved which softens the two-tone look
