If you enjoy the summer combination of basil and lemon, scroll on down for the easiest basil vodka lemonade recipe – full of those summer flavors! This lemon basil cocktail is perfect if you are wanting a drink that is both impressive, seasonal, and easy to serve!
Some of us aren’t summer people! Lemonade is one of the few good things about summer for me. It’s a trade off for the ridiculous Arkansas heat and humidity and mosquitoes!
Ingredients
- Bottled Lemonade – your brand of choice; preferably non-carbonated like Simply Lemonade
- Basil Vodka
- Fresh basil and/or slices of lemon – for garnish
Making Basil Vodka Lemonade
Preparation could not be more simple for this basil lemon cocktail!
Pull out a glass. A frosty glass is best. Fill the glass about 2/3s of the way full with cold lemonade. Next, pour in one jig of basil vodka. Stir. Taste. Add more lemonade or more vodka as desired. I prefer about 1 1/2 jigs per glass of lemonade. Obviously, the more vodka you add, the more the taste of the lemonade is going to be altered. If you are hoping to keep the taste of the lemonade, you need to go light with the vodka!
You can add ice if you prefer. If so, add the ice first. Personally, I like my lemonade cocktails just chilled with no ice since the ice melts and dilutes drinks so fast on hot summer evenings. I just make sure to keep my lemonade cold in the fridge!
Add a bit of fresh basil or lemon slices to dress up the drink.
Where to Buy Basil Vodka
Our go to for basil flavored vodka is produced by a Little Rock distillery. Last year, ahead of a party we were hosting, I strolled into a local liquor store – something I really don’t do that often. I probably looked completely overwhelmed with all the choices there as the owner came over to me and started making some suggestions. He suggested Rock Town Basil Vodka and told me I had to try adding some basil vodka to lemonade for a delicious basil lemonade vodka drink.
Rock Town Distillery is based out of Little Rock so, of course, we try to support this company as much as possible anyway! There are so many wonderful vodka flavors and other spirits created at this distillery.
