About Amy – Arkansas Lifestyle Blogger
Hi! I’m Amy, an Arkansas lifestyle blogger and digital creator. At Planted in Arkansas, I share my efforts in making life cozy, colorful, tasty, and full of plants, parties, peppy outfits, and fun in our Arkansas home. I also love to share travel ideas and Arkansas events and travel destinations! You can even find a little teacher fun thrown in here and there. I believe in celebrating it all – big and small!
I gab a lot which is why my website was originally titled The Gifted Gabber. In recent years, I rebranded to Planted in Arkansas. The rebranding reflects both my life-long roots in Arkansas and my love for house plants. I’ve been planted in Arkansas since birth, and I’m proud to be an Arkansas influencer, sharing my love for this great state! That said, I’m always excited to hop in a car or on a plane and share our new travel experiences, too!
At home, my style is a colorful, modern eclectic vibe – a little old mixed in with a little new and always a side of plant. Speaking of plants, my plant style is low-maintenance with a dose of medium light, crossed fingers, and prayers. My recipe style is easy and tasty with a working mom’s time frame in mind. Parties and holidays? The more festive, the better! And travel – anything and anywhere goes!
Amy’s Background Before Becoming an Arkansas Blogger
Aside from being an online content creator I’m a proud wife, girl mom, dog mom, plant mom, and an English as a Second Language (ESL) building specialist for a junior high school. Additionally, I am a monthly contributor for AY Magazine which is an Arkansas lifestyle publication with both print and digital issues. I have a master’s degree in Second Language Acquisition as well as bachelor’s degrees in print journalism and psychology. Fun fact: Before entering the world of education, I was a newspaper reporter and a freelance writer for a few years! I guess my love for writing has no end!
Recently, my daughters and I have started a mom-and-me website called Arkansas Girls. Swing over and visit us there!
My hope is to inspire other moms, teachers, home decor enthusiasts, home cooks, fellow Arkansans, and plant parents through this little spot on the web. Thanks for visiting!
