Nothing screams summer more than watermelon and lemonade, right? This is exactly why you must try this spicy watermelon frozen lemonade.
When I was shopping at Kroger last week, my head did a double take at the refrigerated lemonade section when I saw Minute Maid had a new flavor. I wouldn’t have thought Spicy Watermelon Lemonade was a thing, but apparently it is. Of course, my curiosity led to a jug of this mystery drink landing itself in my cart.
Scooter Britches had been asking to try the juice from the second it hit our fridge. We don’t normally keep a lot of juice on hand unless I am playing around with recipes so she and Little One think juice is a mega treat!
After trying the lemonade at home, I knew it would make a fun copycat drink of my blue-raspberry frosted lemonade. After you tried that yet? It is probably my favorite frozen drink. You should totally pick up a container of the Spicy Watermelon Lemonade AND the Blueberry Lemonade. Try both the spicy watermelon frozen lemonade and the blue-raspberry frozen lemonade!
Scooter Britches was super excited to help make an ice cream drink with the juice.
Making this spicy watermelon frozen lemonade couldn’t be easier.
For the first batch, we added 1/2 cup diced watermelon, 5 scoops of vanilla ice cream, and 1 cup of Minute Maid Spicy Watermelon Lemonade to a blender.
We blended it for about 25 seconds or so.
Because my young girls were helping me make and taste-test the drink, I didn’t add an optional fourth ingredient of jalapeno. I didn’t want it to spicy for them. But if you are one for a kick, add about 1 tsp of chopped jalapeno or 1 tsp of jalapeno juice with the other ingredients before blending.
On the second try, we only added 1/4 cup diced watermelon as first batch had a slight runniness to it since the watermelon basically becomes liquified in the blender.
I wasn’t sure if the girls would like this particular flavor combination or not, but they sure didn’t complain as they slurped up their drinks! They are pretty big watermelon girls so it was probably a non-issue all along!
I hope you will give this yummy spicy watermelon frozen lemonade a try!
