Disclosure: I am a brand ambassador for McDonald’s. I am being compensated for this National Ice Cream Day post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Also, I would like to disclose that this post may contain more video cuteness than some people may be able to handle.
Did you treat yourself to some frosty goodness for National Ice Cream Day? Hopefully, you didn’t let this day – the third Sunday of July – get away from you. Luckily, you still have the rest of July to indulge since the entire month of July is National Ice Cream Month!
Three years ago on National Ice Cream Day, the Hubs and I decided to video Scooter Britches eating her first ice cream cone. We were in that first child glory where every single thing a child does simply must be documented in some form or fashion.
Well, it turned out to be pretty darn stinkin’ cute, and so we have continued the tradition every year. Just see for yourself!
Who can blame her? I wouldn’t want to share my ice cream cone either!
It’s amazing how much SB has changed each year. Her National Ice Cream Day video from last year – National Ice Cream Day 2015 – is so representative of a two-year-old! And you must wait for the little twist she pulls at the end. It makes this Mama smile!
National Ice Cream Day 2016
This year, we did things a bit differently and recorded the girls eating their ice cream cones at McDonald’s instead of at home. We were invited to a VIP party to celebrate the grand opening of McDonald’s in North Little Rock on McCain Avenue. This party was so much fun! We enjoyed appetizers and were allowed a walk through of the state-of-the-art kitchen. The girls even got to hang out with Ronald, or “the crowd” (“the clown”) as SB calls him. They had quite a nice table-side chat.
Isn’t the soft serve at McDonald’s just the best?
The girls certainly seem to think so!
Here is Little One enjoying her first ever ice cream cone at McDonald’s.
“Moaaah” equals “more” in case you couldn’t tell!
As you can see, at 20 months, sharing is not exactly her thing either.
But there is hope! Check out SB’s newest video (taken in the same outfit but at a different McDonald’s location since I managed to mess up the video I took of her the first time). At three-years-old, the kid finally is willing to share!
By the way, if you are local, you should definitely go by the new McDonald’s on McCain. It is the cutest McDonald’s I’ve seen with typography and bold colors galore! There are even high-tech touches like a really cool drink station.
Thanks for checking out our videos! Do you treat yourself to something extra for National Ice Cream Day or National Ice Cream Month?
