As I plan this year’s Halloween costume theme, I realized I never posted last year’s family superhero Halloween costumes.
I’ve never been all that into the superhero craze, but all that changed once I laid eyes on these ridiculously adorable little girl superhero costumes at Sparkle in Pink.
The costumes came with the shirt with a superhero logo, a poofy tulle skirt, a cape, and a felt mask. The fun part was piecing together the rest of the accessories.
Sparkle in Pink sometimes has superhero hairbows in stock, but the Spider Girl ones were out of stock at the time I ordered the costumes. I found some from a shop on Etsy, and they coordinated perfectly.
I thought the tights might be a little trickier to find because I wanted bold ones in just the right color scheme. I went straight to the costume area of Walmart and found the the pink-and-black ones right away. I also found the same pair in red-and-black to go with Little One’s Spider Girl costume. But even the smallest pair was too big for her. Luckily, I found a pair of red-and-white striped tights from Target in her closet at home. I think they were actually supposed to be Valentine themed, but they worked perfectly.
I wanted the girls to have kind of a punked-out superhero look so the high-tops and booties the girls already had were the perfect footwear piece for these costumes!
My friend had an old Wonder Woman costume that I borrowed to go along with the family superhero theme. The Hubs took a bit of persuading. He wasn’t sure “a near 40-year-old man should be dressing up like Superman.”
Luckily, he usually comes around pretty easily to my
pushy highly persuasive plans.
All his look involved was an inexpensive Super Man shirt from Walmart, added to a white button up, a necktie, and jeans he already owns. The eye glasses were still around from one of the murder mystery parties we hosted in the past.
