Community Cup with Cops at McDonald’s

Disclosure: I am a brand ambassador for McDonald’s. I am being compensated for this post on Community Cup at McDonald’s. However, all thoughts are my own.

There might not be a better way to kick off a Saturday morning than with Community Cup – a fellowship of local police officers and community residents, hot coffee, and McDonald’s breakfast.

My little family had such a great time joining in on the fun! It was so cool to see the staff from the Benton Police Department of Benton, Arkansas chitchatting with members of the community. The event was a come and go style, and there were lots of people who came despite the heavy storms we had that morning. I do believe I even spotted the mayor in the crowd with umbrella in hand.

The event was named Community Cup as a spin-off of the Coffee with a Cop events, according to Matt Burke, the media specialist for Benton Police Department.

Of course, the girls and I had to snag a photo with Captain Russell.

The energy was high as visitors waited to see if their numbers were going to be drawn for the door prizes.

Beverly Morrow, the owner of the Benton McDonald’s, said she thought these types of events were especially important right now with all that has been going on in our country.

My girls had a big time with their Ronald McDonald puzzles!

The social atmosphere at Community Cup was so much fun! I even ran into two former students and their families!

One of my former student’s baby sister had a grand time!

Beverly said she hoped to have more Community Cup events in the future. I’m sure my family will be back for the next one. It’s not like the Hubs will argue with me against treating ourselves to some hotcakes and hash browns! And the girls sure won’t argue against play time in the indoor play area!

Speaking of breakfast, don’t forget that McDonald’s now serves breakfast all day! From the way my friends have carried on, I think this has likely been some of the best news of 2016!

Don’t forget to check out last month’s post with the girls’ annual ice cream videos for National Ice Cream Day!

Great idea to have an event with cops. Nice! I can see benefits of that for victims of crime and for the cooperation with the police when needed.
