A Look Back at My Time as McDambassador

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. As a brand ambassador for McDonald’s, I am being compensated for this A Look Back at My Time as McDambassador.

It’s always bittersweet to say goodbye. Well, maybe not always. But sometimes it is, and this is one of those times. Today, I’m taking a look back at my time as McDAmbassador.

Two years ago, on a whim, I made a last-minute decision to apply to be a McDonald’s blog ambassador for Central Arkansas McDonald’s through my local (and favorite) blogging group, The Arkansas Women Bloggers. When I say last minute, I really mean last minute. My application arrived within minutes of the deadline which meant my chances were already slashed.

I was so excited when I was notified I had been chosen! At that time, this was my first contracted blog work for pay (and not simply product). Finally, all those years of work finally seemed to have paid off.

Soon after signing the contract, all of the new McDAmbassador gals were invited to a lovely welcome party at the Clinton Library. I got to meet Amanda, another blogger who was newly contracted also, and Ronald, whom I hadn’t seen since childhood.

My girls were delighted to be treated to those golden arches frequently (but within moderation) as we tried the latest offerings on the McDonald’s menus and enjoyed the Play Place with friends. In fact, I wrote about some of our play dates, here and here.

The girls had lots of fun at McDonald’s on National Ice Cream Day this year and this year.

The second contracted year allowed for additional time to connect with the other local McDAmbassador gals. You may remember my post on my McDAmbassador friends I published earlier this year.

Most importantly, we found ways to strengthen a love for giving in the girls. My heart melted watching Scooter Britches pack these blessing bags with McDonald’s gift cards and other items.

We gave fun gifts. And then we gave more fun gifts

We even took a gift and attended a birthday party fo Mac, the house pet at Ronald McDonald House of Arkansas.

We enjoyed Saturday mornings enjoying breakfast with Nanny and taking her seasoned advice on life.

I had such fun treating my friends to McDonald’s treats – on National Pie Day and for a ladies night out at the end of the school year.

The girls have enjoyed their Happy Meals.

And they enjoyed their Happy Meal toys, and we found creative uses for them, too.

And I had my fair share of yummy treats, too.

We even celebrated a birthday at McDonald’s!

I enjoyed putting this post together as a look back at my time as a McDAmbassador. It’s been a fun gig for sure!

This has been my favorite opportunity as a blogger so far! I have also enjoyed getting to know all of the ambassadors better too! I’m so glad we are friends now!!

I agree it is bittersweet saying goodbye to our time as McDonald’s Brand Ambassador. While I’ve only been an ambassador for a year, my family and I have lots of fond memories from the experience too.
